Porsche Crest 964 turbo leak down test

Looking at a 91 964turbo with leak down results of 3% cyls 1 and 2, 15% on 3, and 4,5,6 at 5%. test done approx 1 year ago at 51k miles, now has 54k....any advise? Don't think i can get a leak down test done where car is and prior closing deal. Tks

My wrench says anything less than 10% cold is fine (because they typically drop if measured hot). It's faster, easier (and thus cheaper) to do the test cold.

If they get more than 10%, they re-do the test hot - and that figures over 10% hot are not encouraging.

So right there, it's not clear whether the figures you have were obtained hot or cold?

3-5% are nice numbers, hot or cold. 15% could be nothing - and may not even read that now - or could be a problem you need to address.

Irrespective of whether you have a (potential) problem on #3 @ 15%, I'd say you've got a good negotiation point on the basis that it's out of kilter with the other 5 cylinders ...therefore "there's an element of doubt, put yourself in my shoes..."

I would think that would warrant at least a 10k adjustment probably more. I'm not an expert but all cylinders were checked under like conditions and the one at 15% likely has an issue

Thanks for the advise and comments, my gut instinct told me to pass on this one. Closed the deal
Yesterday on a 92 with 33k miles, recent 30k svc and mechanically perfect. Will be posting pics
Once it arrives, meantime Ill be enjoying my 88 Carrera as weather begins to cool a bit in Texas.
