full boost
So last night I decided to just go ahead and install the .8 bar spring, not sure why I waited other than I've been shaking down the hot oil issue.
Anyway.......nice. Now I get the comment popping a wheelie almost. I have been watching the AFR because I only run one 044 pump and don't want to run out of fuel but .08 is still not too bad. At first it was shocking so much that I had an upset stomach from the shear violence of the experience. Keep in mind that I use the 915 so gears are shorter and wilder feeling. Anyway pretty fun.

Mine does that when i floor it from a dead stop. Feels like the front wheels are not even on the ground.

I have a 915-911sc with a 3.3turbo-k-7006-hks-aic-msd6al-sc cams-bb dual exhaust-blah-blah--rebuilt the trans. &3.3 engine at the same time..
Recently did a KEP-Stage 2 lighweight pp/clutch and andial intercooler. ![]() I don't even bother with 1st and 2nd gear--I KNOW I WILL BREAK SOMETHING.. ![]() just leave it in 3rd gear--at 30+mph when i want to play/side by side roll.. ![]() 3rd-gear-at 60mph--downshifting from 4th is the "sweet spot". I can no longer think about first but second is unreal! Third is a great gear too. I still think I'm under the 325lbft threashold for the 915(I hope). But it feels like a lot.
This car was fast at .45 bar, like hold it's own against newer performance cars like bmw335i etc. but now I feel like it's in another range, not sure yet what but dang.

![]() I did race my friend with his 2012-bmw-335i-BMW with Tune-performance-at roll at approx. 3rd gear 40+mph..did it 4-5 times--he took the jump but reeled him in immediately..all of 4th-i think 117mph--5 car length--targa top off-had a passenger--he was solo.. This was with a stock clutch and stock intercooler.. Just changing to a lw clutch and intercooler does make a nice difference..But i think i want more... ![]() Last edited by wjfk32; 05-11-2012 at 11:36 AM.. |

My next purchase will be a 930 gearbox. I know I'm going to shred this little 915/61

Awesome Brandon. It's getting hot too. Just wait for January/February. Cold tires and cold air make things mighty interesting...

I haven't driven a turbo powered 915, nor a G50, so really don't have any base of comparison. But I do like the tall legs of the 4 speed, especially 2nd and 3rd gears. It's pretty nice to not have to worry about grabbing 3rd until around 80.

It is also nice to be able to run laps at the track and only have to make one shift/downshift per lap. The 4 speed box is cool in my book.

My car had that feeling too when I first bought it. I found it a little unnerving. When I checked my alignment I found that it had been set to 0 toe on the right rear wheel and +30 minutes toe on the left. Re-set the toe and this settled the car down.

A shirt bell housing 930 is like 4 915 transmissions. Brian bodart made one last like 5 years with more power.

It's still going strong with the new owner.
Yank the 915, add the WEVO parts and it'll last if you keep the torque below 350 ft/lb and don't do any drag starts. I loved frying the tires in 2nd gear and did it as often as prudent. Went through several sets of 345 and 315mm tires over the 10 years I had it.

Boost pressure helps to seat the rings! You've done the cam run-in so now let it rip!
