Leaking WUR. Would a 90' WUR fit my 83' engine?
I just found out that my WUR is leaking through the vent (metal diaphram?).
A friend of mine think he can get a hold of a WUR from a 1990 964 turbo. My engine is a 1983 Turbo. Both are Euro spec. Thanx |
If it helps...The part nr for WUR on the engines.
83' Euro Spec: Bosch # 0 438 140 112 Porsche # 930-606-105-05 90' Euro Spec Bosch #0-438-140-160 Porsche # 965-606-105-00 |
It may work but is not the best fit. The -160 specs are for use with the late model aluminum fuel head which has Lambda, frequency valve, and other controls not found on the Euro '83. Fuel head flow and volume are different.
Were you running higher than stock boost level? The OEM diaphragm can fail with time running extra boost. |
Yes, I been on high boost.
You think its the metal diaphram in the WUR that is damaged since I see fuel coming through the vent? Annyone knows where I can locate a new diaphram? |
You'll just repeat the problem unless turning the boost down. Don't know if BL will sell just a diaphragm.
|
Ok, thanks Brian.
BL? Maybe EFI then.... |
Would be a bit extreme to go EFI due to a blown diaphragm. I've got rebuilt WURs in stock and only use HD diaphragms or can rebuild yours. If that works for you shoot me an email.

You got a mail Brian.
Thnx |
