930 limited-slip

Was limited-slip standard or an option on early 930s?

Discussing the early options with a friend last week and neither of us could remember.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe ask D. Goodwin? I'll ask him next time he stops by...He sold Porsches in that era, including my 79 SC to the original owner (funny how Goodwin owns it now)

Not sure about US, but here (UK) it was.

My Build sheet shows 'option 220=limited slip differential '

Edit: This on my 1980 930

Makes me feel lucky to have that option, I guess, though I probably couldn't tell the difference just tooling around the countryside LSD vs. NOT. I suppose a person has to get into a nice 4 wheel drift to see the benefits (can you say track time?).

Don't flame me for being stupid or old, but isn't LSD kinda like the equivalent of posi-track rear ends from the 70's and such? I remember my ol' man had that in his '70-something Firebird. I, of course, drove it like I stole it. Never had any problems keeping her in the twisties.
