the shop next to mine rebuilds starters and alternators, i pulled it off tonight and i will let them check it out and rebuild if needed. yeah it comes off really easy. just the nut on the top is the only pain. maybe a 30 minutes job for a newbie like me. well make it an hour as i am really slow on the jacking it up. don't want to be a pancake!

yeah, you will spend more time jacking the car up then you will actually replacing the starter on the 930 4sp box.

so had the starter and solenoid rebuilt. it must have been going bad as the car starts much faster now. will take it out this weekend or next in the blazing hot Arizona summer and see how it acts. it would only not start when hot so now is a good time to test it! if any of you need a alternator or starter rebuild shop in phoenix call up Phoenix Generator. don't have his number handy but i will get it and post it. nice guy who has been in the business for a long time. does a great job.
