any chance to change the oil line to the scavenge pump?
 
Hello,

I want to renew the oil line from the scavenge pump to oil tank.
On first view, I found that I probably need to take the engine out for this job.
Any suggestions?

No need to remove the engine. Drain oil, remove fittings at oil tank and scavenge pump, bracket close to oil cooler. Simply bolt on new line over the trans bell housing. Just changed mine.

...maybe it looks tight because I have a G50 swap...

Falk;

A plan "B" you might consider. This is what I did on the "Sled"

Run a 6an line from the scavenge pump outlet to the crankcase
vent cover on the top of the engine.

Scavenging Pump Fittings:

(Inlet) M16x1.5 female banjo
(Outlet) M14x1.5 female in pump (adapter, to male M16)
(Oil return to 930 tank) M18x1.5 male

Returning the oil to the crankcase instead of the oil tank is good or better
because that oil then gets picked up by the crankcase scavange pump,
pumped through the front oil cooler if it's hot enough to open the external
oil thermostat or it bypasses the front cooler if it's not hot and then it's
pushed through the spin on oil filter on the tank before draining back into
the oil tank.

Returning the turbo oil to the breather cover is a good idea.

In your '87 there may be an unused temp sensor and or thermovalve for CIS emission controls if your car had those and you've 've disabled them.
Remove it and find a metric fitting adaptor that will screw in there and you may be able run the turbo oil scavange return line back in there with no hole to drill and tap.

thanks for help!
As I have already too many small projects on my Car,
I decided to exchange the oil line only and not to reroute it.

I needed to remove the front left engine tin, probably because
Of the G50 swap. Rest was easy...more or less.
