16" wheel/tire fitment? 84, 930
Will 225's on the front be ok on a 7" wide rim or should I go 8"?
These are 16" wheels... |

8's would be better but 7's will work nicely.

Weren't stock rears 8" or 9" wide? (Sorry don't recall the exact specs for the Euro cars.) Why would you run 7" wide rear wheels?
Yes, you can run 225s on 7" wide wheels. People do that on the front all the time.

My brothers euro spec has 205 fronts, 225 rears. Bone stock car.

is there any difference in drive-ability or fitting between running 16x7' or 16x8' on the front, I understand you can fit 225 on the 7' and 245 on the 8'.

Tires
I have a set of 245/45-16's that have never been mounted....Hoosiers at that.
And they were meant for a 930.

Yes but on 7" rears? IIRC those 225s came on 8" wheels, not 7s.

Thanks for all the replies,
So I'm good to go with 225's on 7" wide fronts and 245"s on 9" rears? I'm replacing 8" fronts and 10" rears, BBS that are a bit beat up with the Fuchs replicas that have now hit the US. |
