Help guys..part needed!!!!
Hey there all,
I snapped my clutch adjuster arm last week, seems Porsche is out of stock, and this item is probably going to be no longer available. The part # is 930-116-717-02 {as listed from our host}. Any chance any one of you folks has one laying around? This is the cast steel part that the clutch adjuster screw stops on, and the internal splined through hole, for sliding onto the clutch throw out bearing fork shaft. I'm down to blindly contacting any 930 race team that I can find on the web, as well as calling every salvage yard in the USA. So far I'm coming up snake eyes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Do you have a picture of exactly what you are looking for, I have a box of bits left over from when I went to a G50/50 from the 4 speed.... Can't promise anything, but you never know

full quack,
Where did the arm break? The clutch arm snapped on my 930; had a professional welder weld it together. Ran the car that way until I could find a suitable replacement (cost/availability). What's mystifying is how the damn thing broke in the first place. The welder showed me where the area where the crack propagated. Bad forging. I take it this is the arm in question? That part (930-116-717-02) is still available through our host. I know because I just got one a few weeks ago. $83.00

Philip J...Thank you, I'll let you know what I find out on Monday/Tuesday, if nothing comes available I'll take you up on your offer, thanks a lot!
GSXRKEN...I tried them, no dice. Also tried Easy auto, DC auto & waiting on Oklahoma Foreign Ronnie...They have not responded to my request yet. John JL...I'll give them a try on Monday, thanks. JBL 930...WERK I added the correct photo, take a look. J Fairman...I'll try them on Monday, thanks. WERK I...Apparently the PO broke the part at some point in time. It had been welded in 2 places, too far gone to try to fix it again that way. Z COKER...No it's not, I tried Pelican first of course, but Porsche says "no way Jose", they will also not give any indication, as to when/if it may ever be available again. Thank you all for your great support, what would we all do without this tight knit group of ours. Mark |
Flea bay
I see someone has new ones for sale on fleabay.
|
Philip J, I wish it was that simple....... I will most likely send you a private message at the end of the day, regarding your spare part that you offered to me.
The items for sale on Flea bay are the wrong part number. They are listed as PN# 915-116-717-00 That is NOT the same part, and is way too wimpy for the turbo clutch, let alone an aftermarket clutch. I need PN# 930-116-717-02 Mark |

I was told the same thing but I got the part. I've had this happen on transmission parts, where people say "impossible", "non-existent", "NLA".....Put it in your order basket and order it and see what happens. |
Zcoker,
It's been on order & in my order basket for 1-1/2 weeks now! I've received 1 e-mail update from Pelican & I've called twice for verbal updates as well, the answer is still "NOT AVAILABLE", and no date on any possible in stock time. Believe me, I'm not sitting idle waiting for mana to drop from the sky. This is my daily driver, so I need a replacement part now. Mark |

Mark, I can put it in the post Tues am, but I need your shipping address. Philip

Have you tried Porsche for parts? They may be able to find the part on their national parts network.
When my front valance had an unfortunate encounter with a family of racoons crossing the road, I was able locate the last 930 S driving light in the U.S. thanks to a conscientious counter guy. |
I have seen both arms for sale on E bay a few times over the last few months. I think it was MS road race who had them. Might be worth a shot.

Thank you all for your support & suggestions.
Philip has come to my aid, and is selling me his spare part. What a guy! I'm going to leave my order in, here at Pelican, just in case Porsche sees fit to manufacture them again {hope so}. I really want to have a spare laying around. I'm also going to try to re-manufactrure a new one, by utilizing the broken splined section, mated to a complete new arm. I'll machine a new arm out of 17-4 stainless steel & insert the splined section into a newly bored hole. This may take me awhile, but if I'm successful, I'll post a picture of it. Thanks again to all of you. Mark |
that sucks those are easy to break.

If all your other avenues don't turn up anything, send me a PM....a pal of mine who lives locally here in the UK breaks 911's...again can't promise anything but can always put you in touch with him. He's a turbo 911 nut too, so more than likely knows the part you're after.
Just another option, but would be from UK..... Spen |
