Please confirm my coil is wired up correctly.
Could someone please conform my coil is wired correctly? i labeled them when i took them off but maybe got one crossed up.
1.) 1 have 1 brown/white stripe wire (one connector) and a white (another separate connector) both from the same wiring harness to the coil. i had both of these on the negative pole on the coil. 2) i have 2 brown wires joined to a single connector in a another harness. i have this single connector / 2 wire attached to A pole connector. I'm looking at a wiring diagram, 1.) it shows a brown/white stripe wire (coming from the "31 / 1" slot on the CDI harness) going to B" on the coil. I assume that is the negative pole. 2.) it shows a white wire (coming from the "A" slot on the CDI harness) going to the "A" pole on the coil. Thanks Charles |
doing a better search and from what i think i read:
1.) the brown stand alone wire should attach to the negative pole on the coil? 2.) the white wire should attach to the "A" pole on the coil? 3.) I also have a brown/white wire with it's own separate connector. Does this attach to the negative or "A" pole on the coil? Can you fry the coil if it is cross wired? |
On my stock 86 930, I have a white wire on the positive pole, and a brown/white wire on the negative pole. They both exit from the same piece of brown plastic insulation.

Thanks M5. so i just need to confirm where the solid brown wire goes.

if i am not mistaken the solid brown goes to one of the lugs the coil bracket mounts to

Glad you got your 930 running Charles....

I appreciate all the help and a advice, especially the calls and e-mails from several of you to follow up and keep me going. If it were not for this board i probably would not be a 930 owner.
