Help me get my rebuilt engine running again .... will not start.
I just rebuilt the engine in my 1976 Turbo. Did not touch or change anything on the injection system. I did disassemble some of the intake parts to give it a good cleanning and put htem back together a originally assemmbled.
I have the engine back in the car, but can not get it started. The pumps are running when I turn the key on and press wown on the flaper. I tried priming it with fuel and it sarts, but will not stay running. Seems like it is getting spark, but not any fuel to keep it running after the starters is not turning the engine. Anyone have an idea on what to look for first?

No fuel pressure.

Get a CIS pressure gauge, and check your system and control fuel pressures.
That's where I'd start since you seem to have spark.

Make sure the distributer isn't 180 out.

It would not start when primed if the distributor was 180 off. If it started When it was primed, you have a fuel issue. check the fuel pressure 1st.

thanks for the ideas. On having the dizzy 180 out, been there done that on a previous engin, so I checked this 3 or 4 times.
Been out of town for a few days, but will be troubleshooting this weekend. Will let you know what I find out. cheers.

make sure you have a spark, inductive timing light will verify this and can be done solo. can hook it to the coil output as well. give the air meter plate a little bump down with the ignition on, you should hear the injectors 'pee', try to start the car. if your cis is way off this might get you running.
