Loooong shot, but... Help

I know - long shot, but my newly rebuilt engine does just not run right. I have changed most of the ign apart from coil and cdi.

The fuel system is also up to specs.

Is there any chance, that someone has got a spare fully functioning cdi on the shelf, and maybe a coil, that I can borrow?

We are talking about a 78 930

I have both....PM me

I have gotten some very generous offers, and I believe, I have a set headed my way.

Thank you all for lending assistance.

Merry christmas

how is it running?

if it is running, i would not suspect those parts to be bad.

assuming it runs rough, low power-

if it is a rebuild, have you done a compression/leak down test. are all injectors flowing the same volume of fuel. did you foul plugs getting it started

The engine was rebuilt at Franz Blam I atl.

The injectors are almost brand new it has all been flow tested. The fuel metering valve stuck because of sitting during the rebuild, so they ended up refurbing the fuel head. So everything seems to be ok on the fuel side.

I have driven the car about 1000 miles now. When I am cruising you don't notice anything, but it actually does stumble some. They way it happens, it seems to be electrical. All that hasn't been changed is cdi and coil. - That's why I wanted to see if this will help.

Forgot to mention: I have not done a leak down.

Cd and coil would be at the bottom of my list.

make sure the mixture is correct.

how are the wires. a friend on here put on a new set of wires and his car ran worse, put the old set back on, ran good. search MCA for his post.

check for air leaks. make sure all the intake bolts are tight.

i would suggest drive it at a steady speed where it does this, shut it down and pull plugs, but that could be dificult.

make sure the timing advance/retard is working. check timing
you can connect vauum to the different ports on the dizzy to see if it changes timing. retard will or may kill at idle.

CDI and coil is at the bottom of the list...

Afr are monitored, they are now at 14.5-14.8 in cruise. And overall close to satisfactory. I ha e even tried to go way rich and lean just to see the change. Not it.

Wires are brand new oem. It was the same with the old ones.

Ignition tinning, I have got a newly rebuilt unit from rarlyl8 motorsport

does the engine feel like it cuts off then back on, or is it just a miss?

if it cuts off and back on, and it is a coil or CD, it will get worse.
