Air Guide on my '86???
hello all,
just went through a tow home recently as my alternator went kaputt without sending its red warning...my carreras in the past all had an air guide or air diverter connected behind the alternator - to guide air flow to the first and second cylinders...my 930 is lacking one, and was wondering if I should have one per proper set-up...dont really see why not... ...if so, anybody have one or know where to find one??? thanks... wholio94112, I have a 87 930. Mine was damaged and missing one of the vanes. I purchased one this summer through our sponser and it needed to be ordered from Germany at that time. Part number is OEM-91110605501 and is called FAN HSNG EXTENSION the part number is for a 87-89 so not sure what your part number would be for other years. I can tell you that it is a very important part of the cooling for the engine. Mine was only partly working and now that I think of it it was installed wrong as well. Now with a nice new one installed corectly it runs much cooler.

thanks to all for your feedback...i thought if carreras have one, why wouldn't the turbos???yet another reason for a thorough PPI when hunting down the dream...not that i run hot, but it'll be interesting to compare just how much of a difference it makes when a little more attention is paid to the first 2 cylinders...
thanks again!!! |
