LSD value

Looking for a LSD for my G50/00 conversion

I have disassembled the trans in perpetration for shortening the bell-housing.

The guy that will do the shortening has 3 ZF lsd's and will sell me one.
He want me to come up with an offer.

What is a fair value for a used ZF diff?

Matt said in another thread to someone asking about value of a used G50 that a factory ZF LSD should add roughly $1000 to the value; I think ZF's can be fairly cheaply rebuilt if worn.

Sure your guy knows the difference, but just check he's talking about a G50 one, eh? Seem to recall 915/930 LSD's aren't the same/won't fit...

My vote would be for this, if budget permits, I think it's pretty much the "there's nothing better" option:

If budget is tighter, I loved my 40/65 915 Gripper set up at 70 ft/lbs (widely used by the 911 rally guys and favoured by Francis Tuthill) made by these guys: gripper. I spoke with them a month or so ago; although they don't list a G50 diff, they have made them for that application.

Both ramp angles and torque settings make a difference; 40/60 or 40/65 seems perfect to me for a street-driven car, as does 70 ft/lbs. I don't think that factory ZF diffs are anywhere near either of those.
