Looking for mechanic for Porsche 930 Turbo

Hi guys,

I live in Central Jersey and am looking for a good mechanic who can help me put the car together. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

There are several independent NJ shops that specialize in P cars. Bodymotion is in Ocean County (I think), which may be near to you in central NJ. Never used them personally, but know some people who have and seem satisfied.

Many of the regular participants on this forum are hardcore DIYers, myself included. The only time my car has been to a shop in years was for an alignment and corner balance. I had this done at Europerf in Garfield (its "attached" to Stable Energies). They could also probably help you with your project.

I recommend buying the 101 projects book and the engine rebuilding book from our host. Study up some, then put out an APB on the forums, and you'll probably end up with volunteers to help you install that engine.

Thanks Jacob for your input. I think I'm going to go ahead with your recomendation and buy the 101 project book and trying to put my car back together myself. Since almost 80% of work is already completed the last few steps hopefully won't be to difficult to do.

I live in Old Bridge NJ and if you ever are driving by you're welcome to stop by to see how my project is going. My cell 609-548-0216.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike Bavarro and his crew at Body Motion do great work. But they will never be the low bid on a job. Quality costs money.

Mike does all the motor work himself at his shop at his house. He did a full rebuild on my 81sc and my (for previous owner) race car. Also he did all the work ( for previous owner) on my 930.

I sent my '91 C2 Turbo from KY to CT to Dan Jacobs who seems to be very familiar (boss) when it comes to air cooled turbos.

Look up Hairy Dog Garage in Oxford, CT.
