Another 3.4L 930 with EFI
1979 911 SC with a 930 engine transplant, Boxster brakes

Very nice. I like the way you are plumbing the air filter in front of the manifold. Are you returning the scavenge pump oil to the breather cover and does it/would it interfere with the air filter? Also, I unwittingly chose to have the bulk of my wiring harness pass through that area so it would likely interfere with the air filter placement. Do you have pictures of how your engine wiring harness with main connectors is laid out?
Also curious about tranny choice, ?LSD, and compression ratio. edit: Ah, I see the throttle body is flipped. |

You can rotate that Sanden AC compressor clockwise 90 degrees and the mounting ears line up the same to pump mount. Then the AC hoses and charge fittings are on the right side and more out of the way. The AC hoses can then be rerouted behind all the breather hoses going to the oil tank above the right side longitudinal to move them farther out of the way when changing spark plugs or adjusting valves if they are long enough. |
Here's a pic showing the same model AC Sanden compressor mounted 90 degrees clockwise from the one in the above post with the hoses more out of the way on the right side.

Here's another pic. You can see that rotating the Sanden AC compressor 90 degrees clockwise would also make more room for a full bay intercooler... if I had one. There is a recirculating piston type blow off valve in the C2 type rubber elbow off the CIS airflow meter housing hosed to the origonal Kokeln blow off valve hose fitting on the back. The extra blue hose you see goes to a second blow off valve under the intercooler that is vented to atmosphere. It has a little stainless steel mesh air filter on it because when decelerating at lower speeds the high intake manifold vacuum opens the blow off valve and being vented to atmosphere it inhales unmetered unfiltered air so an air filter on it keeps dirt from being sucked in. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1366388854.jpg |

Because I'm a gadget freak and I wanted to.
I was using the deceleration valve as a second small blow off valve vented to atmosphere. Then I sold it and took that cash and bought a nice looking black anodized chinese made turboXS copy 32mm blow off valve off ebay and mounted it under the intercooler. It works great with 2 of the included shims under the piston spring. It's not needed but it reduces any chance of compressor surge in the turbo when lifting off the throttle quickly while under boost and I like the little woosh sound it makes venting some of the closed throttle turbo boost to atmosphere between boosted upshifts. sorry to hijack the thread with this stuff here... |
