turbo 3,6 cams in a 3.3 .

i recieved a set of perfect turbo 3.6 cams today.

part number 964 105 247 21 and 964 248 20. marked on the cams 964 247 20 and 21. i am not that familar with cam values.

the 3.6 cams open E: 2' and close 54' . A: open 43' and close 3' after ot
the 3.3 cams open E: 3' and close 37' . A: open 27' and close 5' after ot

the 964 cams open E: 4' and close 65' . A opens 44' and close 4' after ot

i know it makes sense to use 964 cams or sc cams in the 3.3 turbo. does it make sense to run the newer turbo cams in the 92 turbo 3,3 ?

thank you for your help

The 3.6 cam definitely has more duration so you should have a broader torque band. How big are you making your ports?

hm,
i did not think about a monster cis. i only want to get out of
my engine whats in - only a little over the x33 option.
so i think 2 or 3 mm porting and polish the ports will be fine.

The 3.6T camshafts are more & less SC cams ( but without the need to add billet for scavenge pump etc )

So what you will get is the X33 option :-)

Question, are you sure the 3.6T cams can be use as is on 3.3 T engine ?

thanks thierry25...

some great input.

but thats one of my questions: is it a drivable setup for street with this 964 3,6 cams in the 3.3. over here in germany we do not have that much limits and with my all day cars (audi s4, etc.) i know only two trottle positions: on/off.

with the turbo i open the sunroof as some kind of additonal brain. it gets too loud over 240 km/h. so i do not reach the limit that easy. if someone wants to play i can close the sunroof and go with him ...

There should be no issue with piston/valve clearance but it has to be checked at assembly anyway.

so, i found some infos about this 964 turbo 3,6 cams.

964 turbo 3,3 li. 93010514303, re. 93010524600
E auf 3 nach OT, zu 37 nach UT, A auf 27 vor UT, zu 5 vor OT
lift 0,60-0,65

964 turbo 3,6 li 96410524721, re 96410524820
E auf 2 vor OT, zu 54 nach UT, A auf 43 vor UT , zu 3 nach OT
lift 1,05 +/- 0,05

SC 78 RdW li 930.147.08, re. 930.148.08
E auf 7 vor OT, zu 47 nach UT, A auf 49 vor UT, zu 3 vor OT
lift 1,4-1,7

so the 3,6 cams lift more than the 3,3cams. the sc cams lift even more.

so there should not be a problem in contacting pistons.

but: is this setup drivable. i hope there are gurus out there that can
answer this question. i bought this (like new cams for about 180 $) so i want to use them if possible.

STOCK, 3.6Tand SC cams are all "street" cams. It doesn't make a huge difference in "on /off" behaviour

May I know what you call lift and what unit do you use ? Is it the full lift or is it the lift at

If 3.6 turbo cams are the same profile as SC's, then they're are tiny and perfect street cams.
