oil cooler sheet metal
Does anyone know of a source that has the front mount oil cooler sheet metal in stock?
The once that you cut out the factory sheet metal and this one opens up behind the oil cooler for more flow. Thanks Brendon |

FYI. You really don't have to cut the tub to install the oil cooler... if you install the cooler leaving - at least - 1" between the cooler coil and the tub, you'll have enough air flow to keep oil temps within control. The "right" front valance should accomodate this approach.

Just a heads up.
My car had a Mazda Rx-7 oil cooler behind a 965 style fiberglass bumper and it fit fine without cutting anything. As long as the car was moving, it worked very well. It was mounted just behind the two long thin openings in the bumper. I'm now thinking about going to an Iroc front bumper and using a much larger earls oil cooler. |

It can definitely be done, w/o cutting the tub and maintaining a modified OEM front valance. ![]() |

BTW someone on eBay is selling a used, damaged, modified "RSR" front oil cooler for only $3933...
He also has a 917 cooler for a mere $17,000.

I hear you. my concern was making sure everything I had still fit: spare tire, existing oil cooler, a/c condenser, etc...
The one for sale looked a little bigger than what mine ended up being. Good luck!
