Put my Fuchs back on today

I had some Rota Foxes (225/255 17") on my 930 due to wanting a better tire selection, but I noticed a difference in the handling and responsiveness of the acceleration. Don't get me wrong it was/is fast.

I decided to put the 7/8" Fuchs back on with some RE-11's (225's/245's). I took it out for a spin and immediately I noticed a difference in slow turning, general handling, and responsiveness to throttle input. I may have to keep these on if Bridgestone will continue or some other manufacturer will continue to make a decent tire.

At some point I'm sure I will have to save my pennies and get some Zuff's in 17's but until them I think I will run the 16" fuchs. It really is amazing what less unsprung weight does for a car!

Yes, I took my rocker covers off. Yes, I didn't put my caps back on, and yes, I took the torsion bar covers/access hole covers off. I don't know why, I just liked it like that. Maybe someday I will have a long hood hot rod and put this stuff back on, maybe not.

Car with Rota's

Car with factory fuchs.

I think the car definitely looks much better with the correct diameter wheels!

I may get them refinished at some point in an rsr. They need to be polished. They sat for a long time.

Thanks. I like them also. I would eventually like some 9's for the rear.

Had a longtime Porsche mechanic tell me super wide, large diameter wheels and tires are definitely the wrong direction to go on old torsion bar models like the 930.

Hey Bill.

Thanks for the reminder. The check for $40 will go out in todays mail with an additional $5 for a beer or coffee or whatever for the lateness.

Thanks,
John
