Decision time with a 3.0 77 930
Decision time on what to do with my 77 3.0 Turbo.
I originally picked this car up to turn into a IROC with a built 3.0 Short Stroke, kind of a NA guy even though I have had two other 930's (78 & 91). I am seeing that these cars are increasing in value and are not all too common. I really wanted to build another hotrod 911. So I am down to two choices. 1) Sell this car as is.......... It has the correct motor and tranny. Some past owner put a 3.3 Tea Tray on it but I have an OEM whale tail, interior (black) needs work but it is all there, paint (silver)ok but has chips and cracks with some surface rust where metal is exsposed, surface only, no cutting/welding needed. Motor runs but smokes and is wet, it really needs a rebuild. The above is why I picked this car up as the perfect base car for an IROC. (as you know this case is bettter for a NA short stroke build than a 3.3) 2) Clean up the interior, perlon carpet, some RS door cards(originals there but in fair condition), have new dash, headliner is very good, seats ok, but interior will look presentable. Have my shop do a stock rebuild, top to bottom, new clutch/pressure plate, new exhaust, etc. Freshen up suspension. Sit on it for a while, maybe drive it on Sundays for a year, and then sell....... really do not want a stock 77 turbo. Input welcomed, having a hard time with this one, Thanks, Jimmy |

I think there are some looking for a stock one that frequent this forum. A stock one is their dream. Let them have it. You will be doing yourself and the buyer a favor. I recently sold a similar car and I have kept others that are similar to your other ones. Everyone ( so far ) seems happy with their choice.

Guys,
Thanks for the input. My ideal scenario would be a no sunroof turbo/turbo look roller trade and cash. If I cant find a trade I will probably sell the car as is and make someone happy that wants a nice no sunroof, single mirror, AC delete 3.0 turbo. No rush, will take my time on this. Jimmy |

Hey Jimmy, I'm looking for a OEM tail for my 76 if you find yourself able to part with it.
