Im back...sort of

ITs been awhile between cars for me (2 kids later) but I finally picked up another Turbo. Its a 996TT which I never thought Id go water cooled but I am actually enjoying the car tremendously.
Ill make my way back on to this forum with another 930 some day:)

Here's the old car and the new....

Nice to "see" you again. The 996T is the pre-owned performance car bargain of our time IMHO. Not a replacement or substitute for the 930, but a stupendous machine in its own right. I'd love to have one as a daily "beater"

Its really tough to argue against buying the 996TT given where the prices are.

Agreed. Friend just bought one and it's an amazing if soulless machine.

My 930 is staying, but my next addition will be a 360/430 with aftermarket Tubi or Capristo exhaust. I'm not in Maranello's target market, but the cars from the mid-2000s are hitting their depreciation stage where I can play and I've determined I simply have to own a car that sounds like they do. Problem is, I need to build another garage first.

Welcome back, Cowtown. Most civilians can't tell the difference anyway. ;-)

Ha! So true. My wife and I are discussing replacing her '06 Mini Cooper daily driver. I showed her a 996t, and she says it looks the same as my 930:eek:
