Have you checked eBay? I recently sold the complete rear wiper set-up for around $100 . . . If I remember correctly, there are quite a few of those to choose from on there (and not all of the sellers have outrageous prices listed).

The early tail 75-77 rear wiper arms, and wiper trans are different from the 78 on wiper assembly. The motor locations are different due the the intercoolers on the 78 on turbo's.
Both early the style arms and the thru-deck trans are NLA as they use a pinch bolt to secure the arm, while the later arms use a bolt on top to secure. The early arms are also a bit thinner ( fyi the pinch bolt style arm is avaiable for right hand drive cars 90162861200) The early style brackets are still availble as is the mounting hardware and rod. The wiper motors are inter changable. You can use the later trans but it will need to be modified. You will need to shorten the trans that goes thru the deck lid as its too long. Additionally the later trans is a bit "thicker" in diameter and just barely fits thru the early style deck lid. ![]() ![]()

Were rear wipers available on the 911 S and Carrera 3.0 of the same vintage? Would it be the same wiper mechanism as on a 3.0 Turbo? I'm assuming that mine was removed by a previous owner for some unknown reason, and I'd like to replace it too.

The early rear wiper was the same for all models. I found this out when I was researching parts for mine. This when I realized I could buy a pinch style early wiper arm for a "right hand drive" car which is still available from Porsche thru pelican. The orientation is different but easily solved with a little heat, bending and respray.
All of the other parts are still available. Motor, bracket, connecting rod, and hardware. Even the wire harness. The only part NLA is the early wiper transmission that goes thru the deck lid. If you can score one then you are in business. If you can not get the early transmission, then you can still you a later style, but it still needs to be modified. Otherwise it will stick out of the deck lid too much. Then you can use the bolt on arm which is easily available.
