my car is faster than a 997

Few minutes ago I was on a ride for fun just out of town and back and was nearing home when a new mercedes sort of challenged me for a second and then a standard 997 came up beside me and slowed to my speed and then hit it. I geared down to 4th and nailed it too. I caught him quickly and smoked him. It was the perfect speed for 4th gear boost Roll on.
But then he caught up and tried to out top end me but......well he slowed around 125 I'd guess but I was way past him so its hard to tell.
It's awesome to be faster than even modern sports cars.

I could never do that with the 915. It would leave parts laying on the ground.
My "winning" happens with roll ons.

I have no doubt that your beast is faster, but I wonder which car utilizes more of this?!

I'm embarrassed to say, but also happy to say, that good old JB has come through for me on my 930. Three years and counting, still rock solid. It was an integral part of my Fred Flintstone mod, since I couldn't find anyone who could weld magnesium without causing an epic fireworks display. BOV update with short neck IC
Probably a lot better stuff out there, but it's what I had on hand.

Just got back from 'turbo drying' my ride following a quick stop at the car wash. It's 91 degrees outside, a bit warmish and my AFR's a showing richer than usual, but had a great time racing myself - since there's only one other Porsche in town and I think I would smoke him should we ever get silly. Sunroof open, both windows open, cranking her up to 85 in second gear and on to the stratosphere from there. Sounds glorious when the WG opens, I think my BP is still up.

As to the video that Willtel posted, I've never smoked my tires from a standstill start. From a rolling start...yes. Man, that's gotta be hard on things dontchathink?

I love to hear these sorts of tales!

3rd to 4th in my 930 915 is about the only one that I could challenge with - 2nd to 3rd would, but I'd need a complete rebuild after!

Then you are missing out. Launching a 930 is a tricky proposition and difficult to get right but on the rare occasion that you get it right it is very rewarding.

You aren't going to have a chance against modern hardware like a 997 turbo S unless you are willing to launch the car hard.

Exactly... a 997 turbo S would blow the f.... doors off your 930, and your clutch disc will be done after you try it a few times.
