Looky what I built today...

I know boring because it's the stereo speakers and I added weight. Oh well, at least now I can actually hear it when I want to. Well I think so because I haven't taken it out yet and I do run a zork. But it's gotta be better than before. I'm just a novice, but I got it to fit pretty good. Just thought I'd share....

I have an amp under the PS seat that runs these as well as the new small alpine door speakers.

My POS radio, with no booster amplifier and with new speakers in back still leaves me cold. No fidelity, so I hardly use it at all.

The true music to my ears is....well, you guessed it!

Nice job looks good. I have a big subwoofer under the drivers seat and 4 bose component speakers in the 4 corners that sound pretty good for crusin but I turn it down to hear true music to my ears.

Pretty cool, Bill!

You may want to modify the head unit of the stereo with an "11" knob so you can hear it over the zork.

Funny! I actually have a digital head unit so I had it turned up to 20 and it still sounded really good. I've yet to take it out on the road though. Maybe today? Anyways, here's a shot of it in the car. Pretty good fit imo..

If it's any consolation: you kept the center of gravity low

Good job.

I did something similar with a single 10" sub behind my passenger seat.

Not the best pictures of my sound upgrade

But you can get the idea - custom made cabinets that just slip in behind the seats... 8 inch subs, 3 inch dome midrange and 3/4 inch tweeter on the top of each cabinet. Driven by a Sony Xplod 100 watt amp under the passenger seat...

Is it a "full" box or does it fit against the front of the seats? How much does it limit the travel of the seats? My son complains he can't move the seat far enough back with my speaker arrangement.

They are full braced and ported rectangular boxes of my design with nice heavy subs near the bottom so they don't move around. I tilt them back and that way I can recline the seats nicely. Unfortunately they limit the seat rearward movement just a bit. I made them thin enough so the seats move back a fair amount but I'm 5'9" so a six foot+ guy would have some difficulty perhaps.
They really do rock the cabin even with the roof off and the loud exhaust I have on her...
