i think you have to get the turbo really hot.

i did 5 runs up to 120 or so and back down. then just did a moderate shift once on the main road and i saw a flash of light. it was dark so the flash was more noticeable and i was not looking out for deer and cops.

mine is stock boost but a k27 with a header and a staight pipe for the WG.

if your still running CIS, just richen your CO adjustment screw a little, stay on the boost for a bit, once everything gets up to temp then you get flames on decel.

my old 3.0 turbo maxed out on CIS... 396rwhp at 5500rpm...things went lean fast above 6k

Fantastic! I wish mine did that

I have a stock 3.3 engine with CIS, Kremer intercooler, K27 with headers and open wastegate pipe and RarlyL8 custom straight pipe exhaust running 1.0bar boost with twin plugs and have never seen any flames even when it's good and hot.

I guess some 930s just don't do it?

I haven't seen mine, but I understand my 930 is the same way. I am also told on full throttle in between shifts it looks like an afterburner shooting a torch like flame to a point. I have to be careful out here with a right side exiting exhaust to not start a fire on the road side grass. I wish I had some good footage like you do. Great job getting that!

I think the best thing is at night when you "flame" someone and their reaction. Brake Martha BRAKE! That car is on fire!!! lol

I am not sure how a cop would handle that around here during a burn ban...

Have Blue, the twin plugs are to blame for no flames. A common complaint after guys twin plug "But wait, why does it not make a fireball anymore??"

I was thinking that,Groovie, but what about single and twin turbo 935s? Twin plugged and absolute flame throwers.

Surely MFI wouldn't make that much difference?
Then again I think it probably would.

Not a guru on the 935's.

But my engine builder who has been doing this for 50+ years was telling me the other day about all those customer complaints about no more flames. He recommended twin plug for my build to get a few extra HP. I stuck with single plug because its not gonna compete with 1500 hp supras and such, so i want the fun of the flames.

The twin plug gives a more complete burn, so less unburnt fuel exiting the exhaust = not much left to ignite. at least in a street car.

Thanks for watching Guys I filmed this with my GoPro Hero2 camera with a WiFi bacpac and the Suction-Cup mount. It's great for filming cars

The New GoPro 3 camera has built in Wifi. You can see what you are filming in your Smart Phone and control the camera as well. Highly recommended!

Slow&Rusty: To be honest, I don't know. I had my engine tuned on a Dyno and got the correct adjustments there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toCT2CJpkns

Do you know if there are any good AFR units you can use while driving the car? E.g. one that sends the data wireless to a unit like a Smart Phone or a laptop?

Cheers

looooooooooove itttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

thanks fer sharin! can nevvvvvvvvvvver (ever) get enough of 'that'

and lolzorz @ the TX fire ban concern heh heh

and I'm insanely jealous! Running headers/Rarly dual-out Hooly/LeaskWUR/open dump I do get flames... but only when I lift and only a fleeting 'pop'... I'm told it's sorta a 1-2 action where one pops out the left exit (primary) and then quickly another lesser pop out righty (slaved off primary)... and they're more blue/yellow

My afr's are dialed in, I had it drowing pig rich last I owned it but it runs so much better slightly leaner - but I'm guessing less flamage... sigh.

Man, do we have problems or what? I cannot fathom what John Q Pubic thinks when submitted to such... love that! I can envision kids' exlamations of "mommymommy that car's ON FIRE!!!"...

talk about probs... I sold my uberluxo biturbo12 Panzer which could wipe the road w/ most our 930s mostly because like moths to a light I just had to have 'that' back... good thing we have e/o for 'support' (instigation d'oh)...

I did a bunch of data recording this past Sunday with my Innovate LM1 and driving around on part throttle, with low load on the engine the AFRs are right at 13.5

At wide open throttle in 3rd and 4th gear I recorded AFRs right at 10.5-10.8, which is a little fat but safe.

Regards - Yasin
