surging and loss of power

Hi all, yesterday when driving when I hit about .5 bar the car would surge and sorta "hit a wall" and not rev any higher, I think it was around 4500 rpm. The car did it a couple of times, the one time I was watching the AFR gauge the AFR was 15 or so, I immediately backed off every time this occurred. Today it ran a little rough but the AFR was normal, 11, at .5 bar and reved to 5000 before I let off the gas. Does this sound like a fuel pump issue? The car ran fine for 600 miles when I picked it up in Dallas. The ignition system is all new within the last year and half, I did order a new non-resistor rotor from NAPA, just in case. I don't have any of my tools to do any kind of proper diagnosis, the household goods get delivered Friday.
Thanks Frank

A hose has popped off. Maybe a signal hose for bypass valve etc.
