I'm going to buy a 86 930 but I want to know how to be sure is has all the original parts... the 930 of 86 comes with the rear side air vent or not??
what I need to check to be sure is in great motor, trans condition...
the seller said the car only have 24k miles since new.. and I need to know how much to pay for this 1986 930

You mean is there a side vent/hole in the rear fender flare, ahead of the rear wheel?

It might be worth your while to have a Porsche-specific independent garage perform a PPI on the car you're considering.

Do you want a car to drive? Or a garage queen? A 24K-mile example of a 930 is likely going to have an asking price in the $60K range.

It is also likely to have a lot of oil leaks if you do start driving it! Low mileage like that is not always better. PPI way recomended!

I mean , ahead of the rear wheel
oil leak are the most common problems so I going to check that. smoke and rust.
but that low miles scare me because the can change the odometer or rolled back

OK, the air intake in the rear fender in front of the rear wheel is not typically stock. It did not appear on standard 911 turbos. However, it was part of the slant nose appearance package, which could be ordered as an option. There would normally also be front fenders without the round front headlamps (pop-up square lights, instead) and boxed rocker panels spanning the front and rear wheels. Does the car have the rest of those appearance modifications? It was not impossible, but it would be very uncommon to have just the rear fender air intakes (which I think fed cool air to a transmission cooler) without the slant nose front fenders or boxed rockers.

A car with only 24K miles should be near-mint, inside and out.

If you post some pictures, we could help you identifying if OEM or not; and you take it from there...

The 5 speed, G50 transmission was not present until 1989 - 86 and 87 had the 4 speed, 930 transmission.

Yes the best way to see if the car is original (or potentially) original is posting picks.. We'll pick it apart.

Agreed... The car would appear near mint inside and out. I've seen such an example black/black and the $60k price is also likely in line. Find a local Pelican that is knowledgable on the 930 to help you inspect the vehicle..
