Hmmm,

Beautiful Turbo Cab.. However,

Listed here on Pelican as 84 Turbo cab,

- On Ebay with heading and description as "1980 Other Makes RUF 930 Turbo"

- Then then further described as "1984 RUF 930 Turbo Cabriolet" In the body of this description it then states "Starting with an '81 body"...

- Then the VIN plate states imported as 12/31/81 and has a very different serial number.

- Car in magazine article has Ruf wheels

Oh, and before someone says it.. Ruf did not get "bodies in white" prior to the 89 -91 timeline which is when they received there TUV certification as a manufacture as opposed to a tuner.

Also, I assume this car was a Targa cut into a cab as there were not 911 cabs prior to 83.. possibly 82 in Europe.

So I'm just curious about some of these details.

That is a all aluminum RUF special ordered built the Chicago distributer back then, according to the info I got from the RUF convertible ebay lister a few months ago. Call him his name is Cameron, I think he will sell it. I think the original high HP motor needs finish work.

Car in the article has Fuchs wheels, this car was pre-yellowbird. Ruf did not have a version of his own wheels when this car was offered.

I can try to take a photo(and post) the the article that I have at home.

Speedme, no worries.. I have the article too, just hadn't looked at it in a while and you're right, it does have Fuchs as you've mentioned. I remember the pre-Yellowbird cars well.. both boosted and N/A. The forest green SC and the Nato development car both come to mind. The black cabrio also has the pre-yellowbird style front spoiler.
I bought a totaled pre-yellowbird SC many years ago.. I got lucky, nobody really knew what it was, they were about to part it and I bought the whole car specifically for the goodies it had!
