I think the PPI shop will tell the owner the car is worth 2x what they are asking

This is a no brainer, go buy it right now! If you dick around with a ppi, you'll burn time and lose the car.

Looks like there is some documentation with the car, the owner said that he has a picture of the first title, stating the Ford Dealership that owned the car and also some photos of when it was pulled out of storage!

Also, I verified VIN and Engine match.

Thanks again for all the guidance everyone.

Will be driving down ASAP to pick up the car I'm driving it to the PPI myself, and transporting it back to NorCal myself.

Owner needs to grab some stuff from his ex-wife... We all know how that goes.

And please report back.
If the car is half as decent as the pictures lead one to believe, you will make the steal of the century if you manage to bag it for 26k. :-)

Will do

cover - your car is absolutely stunning by the way. I've seen some threads surrounding it. Part of the reason I decided to go with black!

At that price, for that car, what possible use is a ppi? NONE
Are you gonna pass if it is down a cylinder or leaking oil? NO
As mentioned a ppi buys time for the seller to read the web or google prices, have second thoughts, or time for another buyer to get wind of it, plus the shop will surely let the cat outta the bag!
Just go buy the car and drive home with a smile on your face!

Oh, and take it easy when you test drive.
I would't attempt any boost driving until I had checked and babied the car a bit back home in my own garage.
She's probably a bit out if shape after all that sitting.

Ok! I hear you all, unfortunately... there's a tad bit more involved. Papers need to be signed by both parties of the divorce. Everything looks very promising though.

So several people are aware of the impending sale, that ain't good. Somebody is going to figure it out, strike as fast as you can, cross your fingers the *****y wife doesn't figure things out.

Picture Jim mora saying " playoffs? Playoffs!?!?"
Substitute ppi for playoffs...."ppi? Ppi!?"

Normally I would never argue against getting a PPI....but I am in agreement with the Pelican Collective.

Do it.

Do it now.

Fingers crossed for you.
