The husband will know unless he is 100 and unaware of Google. The seller should do a bit of research but part of me would feel compelled to tell the seller about the market. The car is probably worth 75k or so all fixed up and will probably take 20k to get it 100%. In that regard I think a fair price for the car might not be much more than 40

^^ great insight, I must admit, I'd feel little guilty, unless its a divorce thing and he just doesn't want to give the wife the satisfaction of benefiting from his car, rather let a brother enthusiast have it instead. My friend did that with some antique Italian shotguns during n extremely messy divorce.
Sold 'em for 50$ each, had over 30 from the 17-1800s.

Funny I was thinking the same thing...maybe he does know..but that probably means more money for her and the lawyers...all bets are off in most divorces

3 pages and no transaction...this is absurd consensus building. is this car in san diego? would you like me to meet with the owner and have a look at the car for you?

happy to do it tomorrow.

I am already in agreement with the seller. Pretty much wrapped up.

I am not waiting by choice, I am waiting because the husband cannot legally go see the ex-wife (or so I am told), unless it is specifically to sign the title off. If he gets everything signed this weekend, I will be down there as soon as I get the communication.

The car is not listed anywhere, I stumbled on this upon conversation and little bit of luck. Also, I am pretty confident the seller is aware and is willing to take the hit on the deal because of his situation.

Hopefully the ex doesn't research the value in the mean time.

Were the 75-77 model year cars supposed to have a boost gauge like this one does?

The tach looks crooked too... Obviously not a deal breaker, but why would a 14k mile car need a replacement?

I just looked in the Porsche PET for the 1976-1977 Turbo and it shows that the tach with boost gauge was an option.

Whoops - I looked again after shlobeck posted, and he is correct as the PET shows a "no boost gauge" tack for 76 and one with a boost gauge for 77 and onward.

'77 had a tachometer standard, '76 didn't.. The gauges are original. If you need any help or advice I'm in SD and willing to help out. Congrats

The 77 also came with the 1.5 bar boost gauge.
