Mine is clocked at a 6:47:39 angle and sounds like Julie Andrews singing "The Sound of Music". I can't believe you guys sneaked in another Zork thread, even though you know you are all on double probation for the last one! Will your lust to make your 930 sound like a '92 Honda Civic never cease? You leave me with only one choice: YOU ARE ALL NOW ON DOUBLE SECRET PROBATION!

I thought only Dean Wormer could put someone on DOUBLE SECRET PROBATION.

The waste gate only opens up when you're on boost, so the "sound" can be whatever you want the other 99% of the time you are driving the car. An unmuffler waste gate doesn't sound like any ricer I've ever heard, it's just more with a roar. When you're on the pipe you want to hear it!

Original WG muffler verse the straight pipe....

I was told the factory WG pipe/muffler was "tuned" to bleed-off exhaust to optimize boost.

While I have had the straight pipe on the WG for a number of years I remember going back and forth to see if one or the other had any impact on performance...

I found that the boost "seemed" to hold on a little longer with the factory pipe than with the straight pipe but that the straight pipe's sound was awesome. So I stayed with the straight pipe..

The "tune" is to match the spring to the pressure differential before and after the waste gate. That differential changes with a dump pipe so you may see a tiny bit higher boost level using the same spring.
