Difference between headers and those with heat?
Been trying to find headers for my 930 and keep coming across those with "heat box" and those without. I can see quite plainly the box but is that just for cooling the headers or is there another reason? Do headers without the heat box run that much hotter that you need the box? Any help would be appreciated.

The heat boxes are for.............................................he at in the car. You dont have heat in the car without them. Since there is no coolant or heater core in an air cooled car, interior heat is accomplished by circulating cabin air afound the headers.

When I removed the heater hoses I think I should have paid attention as to where they were getting the from! Well I am in S. Florida and the last thing I need is HEAT!
Thanks |
The headers are basically the same, like you say, one with heater boxes and others without; really your call. However, threre are some with removable boxes (modularized) = best of both worlds.

If you have headers with "heat boxes" you really must have the air hoses connected to them, otherwise the heat-box metal gets superheated without the airflow and that heat radiates everywhere.
