Rennshift shifter for the 930

FYI Jwest Engineering is now making complete shifters(it includes the housing but no knob) for the 930. Though not up on his site or on Pelican. They are available. I have been in contact with James for over a month now. I ordered mine today(shipped out today as well). I do have my Wevo(and yes it has been excellent) but I wanted to try something different with my RUF tranny.

Just passing on some info.

I personally did not like the distance of the throw on my Ruf 5 speed so interested on your feedback once installed.

I could be interested as well for my Ruf 5 SPD. What model Wevo are you using?

The RUF 5 speed will work with the Rennshift 930 shifter(as well with the Wevo 930 shifter..this has been confirmed with Hayden at Wevo). Due to 1st gear being down to the left. Oh and if any of you guys decide to sell your Ruf shift knob..pm please. I will have more feedback when my car is done a couple of weeks

Curious to know your thoughts of this shifter compared to a Wevo. I really like the Wevo but wish the stick was longer or set back more.

Chris.

I was one of the first to put James' Rennshift on my 914-6 years ago. James was helpful and it works great.

Wanted to revive and old thread - did you ever install the rennshift? I am curious to know your thoughts how it compares to the Wevo? I like the feel of the Wevo but I wish it angle the stick more rearward. I find myself really reaching for the Wevo stick on the 1st and 3rd gears. It appears the Rennshift locates the knob further back than the Wevo which would allow me to move my seat back a notch or two.

Any thoughts/reviews would be greatly appreciated.

Chris.

Chris my car is almost complete but my Wevo is still installed. They will be swapping it out in a couple of weeks...I will update once I get it on the road...I'm very curious as well

I talked to James this morning via email. Since I am local to him, he offered to come out and install my shifter, set it up, and do a custom bend stick to get the position I want for my car. I am really excited to test the result! He is waiting on new stock for the extended stick (about 4 weeks) and then we'll set up a time to do the install.

I am currently running the black anodized Wevo with the PSJ coupler and billet clamp. I really like Wevo shift, but I would prefer a setup that puts the knob about 2" and 2" back. That would really be ideal for my driving position.

I will keep everyone updated.

Chris.
