Timing light hook up
Hi, can someone show me how to hook up timing light on 1987 930 turbo correctly please.
I tried, nothing happen, no light flashing. Thanks, Yahow |

Depends on the timing light. Old skool inductive light would have a positive clip to battery positive, ground clip to the engine block, and the clamp around the #1 ignition lead.

yes, mine is an old school inductive light, I did that, only difference on my hook up was attached positive clip to one of the 3 fuses at engine bay fuse box to get 12V instead of directly from the front battery, is this an OK way too? Thank you, Yahow |

Verified the voltage and didn't get 12V, wiggled the clips around showed 12v and the timing light came alive! Now I know my timing is set correct at 26* BTDC @4000rpm. Thank you so much for your help! Yahow |
