2007 911 Turbo Engine light on

My 911 engine light came on but the car runs/ sounds perfect. The door lights will also come on and go off intermittently while driving, very annoying. The dorr lights have been going on and off for a week or so. The engine light just came on yesterday. I checked the gas cap and its on tight so I ruled that out for the engine light but. Could be a short? Has anyone experienced this? Car only has 25K miles.

Go to an auto parts store and have them hook up an OBDII reader to it (I'm assuming the '07's use OBDII?) for free.

Although not as good as the Porsche diagnostic tool, it might be correct.

Hell, I had the dealer misdiagnose my old 996 with the Porsche diagnostic tool. I did a swap-parts-until-fix-method........argh.

Anyways, just throwing out some thing's:

- Mass airflow sensor
- Oxygen sensor
- Cam position sensor
- Coil pack misfires (so many events (misfires) in a given time)
- Manifold air temp sensor
- etc.

Every sensor can trigger a check engine light if enough "events" out of range occur.

If you go to Porsche, they can give you the printout of the data collected in about a 6-8 page printout IIRC.

Buy a reader. I couldn't keep all the family cars running without one. It's as handy as a screwdriver for modern cars, as sometimes the light will come on for trivial and transient reasons that need no correction other than to be reset.
