Mystery toggle switch update
A while ago, I posted a thread about my 930 Slant's boost problem and a toggle switch near the footwell, and today I think I found out what toggle switch was for. In my other thread, I said my toggle switch was halfway between the "up" and "down" position, and that was when I started having the boost problem. Well, after that I moved the switch back to the "up" position, and after sitting in the garage for two weeks, I took my car out for a drive today and it seemed like my boost problem was solved; it remains steady again at full throttle.
So now my theory is the toggle switch in question may be connected to my boost controller or some sort of aftermarket rev limiter. Possibly the latter because the engine sounded like it was hitting the rev limiter when the switch was moved, but after I moved it back up, my boost problem is gone. To anyone who may also have the same toggle switch, be careful if you ever touch it because it may also be connected to some kind of rev limiter ;) |
So you still have no idea what it does.

It sounds like it may be a valet switch. Cuts the power back so that the goof-ball valet at the fancy restaurant doesn't kill himself and your car when he goes to park it, cause you know they want to "see what she'll do."
That being said, I've never turned over my keys to the valet on any of my "special interest cars." I either get to park in front cause they think its cool.. or I'll find my own safe parking. |

It's "Return of the Red Slant Sunday"!! Good to hear from Jason after all this time. I'm sorry to hear that the switch is not wired to a p*ssy magnet like I had originally thought. Sounds like another 930 mystery is solved…
How's the car running these days? |
It's the PO responding, not Jason. :)

Everyone- Return of Red Slant Sunday is postponed until further notice. |
I have a switch like that in my glove box also. How does it work? How can I check if it is a valet switch? Thanks!
