Can only imagine how much fun that car would be to drive...

I really dig the no rocker look.

Chris.

i love that tail..

JohnJL 04-12-2014 12:17 AM

that bin price is crazy. i would think more like $40s. its not what you spent on it, its what buyers think its worth. never resistered, 'has problems passing emissions in every state...'

lin7310948 04-12-2014 02:49 AM

ive got one very similar...78 930 with a mast motorsports ls7...i hope he can find a buyer! price seems very steep....http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1397296159.jpg

speednme1 04-12-2014 04:14 AM

$120k? should have just listed it for $1,000,000 as it would have been just as crazy. He invested $135k into making a Porsche 930 into a Vette? WTF is wrong with him? If you're going to invest $135k into a 930 might as well modify a 930 engine..the LS7 swap should be the economical choice of the two otherwise why bother.

krasuskyp 04-12-2014 05:49 AM

little in automotivedom pisses me off more than the use of "invested" usage in for sale ads

argh!

Gee, $130k "invested" for a $120k sale - oohhhhh, I'm going to run and plow all of my money THAT GUY'S WAY and have him "invest" it for me!!! YEAH!!!

Folks are utterly we tar did all too often - friggin PAINFUL

"invested"

God I hate people. Rarely is that term EVER the case in cars - fitting only for true Blue Chip INVESTMENTS (read: cars whose values actually APPRECIATE beyond that which was SPENT).

Um, duh?

neat car tho - absurd ad/price (don't even get me started at the ridiculous attempt @ Engrish... yeah cause online translators are so hard to find/use)...

If you're gonna try to ride the 930 price wave shouldn't you at least have a 930? Don't have the correct 440 Six Pack for your '69 Super Bee? No problem, just drop that GM LS7 in and you're good to go. Makes about as much sense.

Now, I'm not against conversions. In fact I kinda like the idea of a lightweight, reliable power plant with modern tune-ability and reliability, but only with the understanding that it comes with a cost.

ficke 04-12-2014 06:37 AM

This is not a 930 and it does not have cheap Chevy power, a white elephant.
It would be fun, but fun can be had for less money or in a real 930 for that coin.

cole930 04-12-2014 07:31 AM

I'd like to steal it just to crush it.

I'm a huge GM fan and LS-X lover, but sticking that unnaturally balanced "truck" engine in a 930 is just stupid.....

I'm not a big fan of conversions using valuable and or beautiful cars such as a Porsche. Too bad he ruined such a nice car. Now if you have a high production run of the mill production car that you modify the body, suspension and engine and make an uncool car cool that is different...

If someone handed me the keys to this V8 car at VIR, I'd be shortly thereafter laying two strips of rubber from pit out to turn 1.

Price wise, it's about 30% more than a sorted out Cup Car.

911's aren't exactly rare..

aschen 04-12-2014 03:35 PM

It looks like a cool car too me. I think the fact that it says its never been registered in the us and has a salvage title hurts the value more than the water pumper in the back.

lin7310948 04-12-2014 03:47 PM

as a comment, ill assure you that if you ever rode in my 930 you would not consider it ruined!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1397342774.jpg

aschen 04-12-2014 03:53 PM

Looks great lin

pkabush 04-12-2014 07:06 PM

I love my my antiquated air cooled 3.3 and would never consider a swap. That said I followed lin7310948's build and I think it's bad ass. Extremely well executed.
Pretty hard to argue with the #s. 700=+ H.P. Modern fueling etc. etc. And IIRC it weighs less than a 3.3
I love everything about the Fleabay car except the mirrors and, oh yah...the price.

truck engine nothing....thats gods v8

TurboKraft 04-14-2014 10:53 AM

It's a hot-rod, not a 930. Nothing wrong with that IMO except:
- lack of brakes
- absurd price
- horribly written ad

It's easy to hate on the V8s with their crude pushrods and mass production, I'm as guilty as most... but that 427cid engine is stupendous. Do some quick reading on it, and if it wasn't for the Chevrolet-association you'd think it came from Europe: all-aluminum, dry sump, fully counterweighted forged crank, Titanium rods, CNC-machine ported heads, Ti valves... At a little over 400lb it's over 100lb lighter than a 930 engine.

No, it isn't factory and pure by any stretch, but it's probably a helluva lot of fun!
