Where to get shims for system pressure?

Anybody know where to get the shims to adjust the system pressure? I see pelican has the whole kit, but its about $100 and all I need are a few shims.

I used a small washer that I found from a kit of washers that matched the OD of the system pressure relief valve spring. It does not have to be an exact machined shim.

Works for me fine.

Or you can go to a U-Pick junkyard and get them off another CIS system for probably for free.

Just shimmed mine yesterday. I took one of the shims and went to home depot and they had the exact size in a pack of 4 for 50 cents...

when i took mine apart it didnt have any small shims just one thick one. But my fuel head was one of those modified onse from imagine auto. So when i needed to raise system pressure I bought the kit put in the new needle valve and replaced the o rings plus the additional shims to raise the pressure.

If you have a selection of washers, and some shims already in there, you can usually juggle the shim/washer combo to get exactly what you want, ie use a washer to delete a bunch of shims, then add these shims as required. That way you don't need more shims. Alternatively you could make some out of shim plate - with suitable metal punches. You may have to buy the punches, but less than $100 and you get to keep them.
