Thank you Kevin.

I lost my dad on the 1st of June 2016. Out of the blue he was given three months to live at the age of 77 with a cancerous brain tumour.

He retired at age 55, lived a robust life, never any health issues, he was "a fitness guy" tennis, cycling, skiing, hiking, etc. I mis him immensely everyday.

I wish he could see the car in its finished state. He would approve of what I'm building.

Rod

Wow! Impressive fab work to be sure. I've never seen a cage tied in like that. Did you come up with that design, or is it borrowed ? Either way it looks amazing. The oil tank must be moving to the frunk.
BTW, condolences on the loss. I lost my only brother a few years ago to cancer. Really threw me for a loop. Distractions help but it's just fu**ing hard going through a loss like that. Keep up the excellent work.

I removed all the undercoating on a 1979 turbo once at GD Racing a long time ago. I am sure a bunch of it burned off but in the end it did not weigh all that much. The shop owner, Gary Dielacher, just laughed at me the whole time.

That being said I love that your doing it and be prepared how much louder it is inside the car

I have a lot of photos of that car if you want to take a look for any ideas, though what your doing is looking awesome!

Gents, I appreciate your understanding and empathy. Thank you. Its tough losing loved ones.
I like the idea of the down tubes tied into the suspension p/u points, It solved a few problems with a minimalist solution IMO.

Yea I had a few strange looks from friends when they discovered I was removing all the undercoating. Inside I like that hollow race car sound.

Me too I must admit

Have you considered doing away with the rear suspension pick ups and raising them?
