Installed some new goodies
After collecting parts over the past year I finally got around to installing everything and I am very happy with the end results. I installed B&B headers and dual out exhaust, B&B intercooler. RUF .9 spring, Fabspeed dump pipe, K27 Turbo and Fabspeed cold air intake. I also installed an NHS boost gauge I think that added the most HP well maybe not but it looks cool. I also removed the air pump and all of the plumbing using the plugs sold by our host.
There is a very noticeable improvement especially with boost. The boost seems to come on smoother and the power seems to be there throughout the RPM range. I have not had the car dyno'd yet but I hope to soon so I can see if there is any noticeable horsepower gains. I sourced all of the parts from the classifieds here and as usual the members here were really great to deal with and as helpful as can be. Also Mike at B&B was really great to deal with anytime I called him for whatever I needed he got it right out to me. I bought the header installation kit from them and he also made me a shroud for the intercooler. I wanted to only change things that I could simply bolt on and easily remove if I ever wish to return everything to original. |
pretty sweet - well done
about the same way I'd started w/ my car - pretty much the way the car should have been from the get go! the results are awesome, and yes very notable on the street... on a dyno I'd say you prob added 50hp or more so your car is done, is now awesome... and you're in NY eh? Joining us Thurs-Sun (or any component thereof) for turboPALOOZA? It is an absurdly good time... make us proud! |
Do I have to say it?
|
^lol^... d'oh I forgot to! How dare I!? Please forgive me!!! 8-)

I would have love to attend the Turbopalooza but it is my 25th anniversary and after spending so much on the updates and my wife being so supportive I think it is only right I pay the same attention to her. Have a good time I hope you have a great turnout.

Oh, yeah - that's slightly more important than f'n around w/ us idjutz!
Happy Anniversary - that's a pretty tall accomplishment. Enjoy whatever you have planned! We'll have to meet another time then... |
Similar to what i did with my car Mike. I ended up going with an .8 bar spring with these short tube headers though, even thinking of going down to .7 even. You are welcome to take a ride out east to my house one day.

Thank Al the adapter worked great and I use that silicon you gave me on almost everything. Maybe if you are free one Sunday we can take a blast out to the beach in the morning.
