thatss how i am now and why i am scrared to drive my 930. maybe if it was not so nice, already had some door dings and repaint, it would be different.
i dont make a lot of money so that makes it even worse and with the value of these cars going up, it means that much more to me to keep it in really good shape. i can understand how he feels. some lady came flying into the parking spot next to me. i thought for sure she was going to hit my car.

It's funny reading the comments, people have a blatant disregard for other peoples property. Many look at a car at just transportation and for that they can't get why he would be so upset over someone getting too close. I'm sure someone was wondering why he was getting so upset about an old car. I've seen many have a parking space big enough for a tractor trailer yet get very close to my daily driver. It bothered me, if it would have been my 930 I might have said something or just move the car. I understand why he would be bothered. Heck I made a guy move his car when he parked his car door too close to my car at the gym. He had all the space in the world yet managed to park so close he had to squeeze out of his car. I rolled down my passenger and firmly question his parking skills. He jumped back in his car and moved it. Again some people just don't care....

And to think I had a co-worker ask me the other day why I didn't drive my car more than I did. Where can I take it and leave it and not worry constantly about it? No where. It makes big circles out of my garage and back.

Jerry is the man!
There is a least one advantage to driving a patina-ed, rock-chipped, "garden-variety" 911.

I worry about mine a bit as well, but not excessively. I do watch where I park it, for what it's worth. I'm probably more concerned when parking it at work than any place else, being I'm "the man" around here and thus potentially a target from disgruntled employees with sharp keys. Goes with the territory (I park it right in front of the security shack as a deterant).

Yeah it pisses me off about how a lot of people are, but after owning 41 cars over the years, I just take a deep sigh and realize this is life and that's how it is.
I'd rather be enjoying driving my 930, than to be just looking at it in the garage, or worrying too much about a ding or paint chip....you only live once, and you can't see the paint chip or scratch from the driver seat anyway! Mark |

I loathe when idjutz park retardedly close - makes me cringe at their general stoopidity
but does it mean that - or anything else - keeps me from driving my car? ohdeargodno shiit I park mine at the mall - in general plebian parking grocery store kids' games in dirt lots whatever / where ever / whenever it's just a car I'm careful how I park - always centered, always shallow, never next to a dented up shiitbox or a car not parked at least semi correctly and try for an end spot but never wayway out in remote land - usually as close to the store as possible lol I think parking far away invites asshats to park close to you purposely out of spite, and leaves your car a far away / unattended car to break into IMO amen - life's short, carpefukkindiem biitches... ![]() fukk - you shoulda seen me pull into the Subway (sandwiches) crowded tightass parking lot... in the 904... and go in to grab some eats. CLASSIC. |

Spent weeks getting the doors on my son's 71 looking like glass then to have a Porsche guy in a 997 park next to it at cars and coffee and ding it. Talk about friendly fire. No note, we went in to find the Dick! Not finding him we return to find him gone. Next time we get the plate number first.

Did that article say Jerry was born in 1973 the same year as the car?

Also, she did not just get "too close", Jerry clarified and said she actually hit the car and did damage. He flipped out because she literally said "so what? it's just an old car, what is the big deal?" and he proceeded to lose it.
I would have as well. |
