Clock didn't work anyway
 

I needed to get a wideband as well as an accurate boost gauge, so I bought some PLX stuff and was looking for a good place to install it. After getting a gauge on ebay, I did some cutting and tried to maintain the existing look of the dash. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, but won't get around to installing it until the winter slumber.

Very sanitary

Now that the winter modifications are done (GT35R, IC, Headers, Muffler, Tial), I got around to installing the PLX hardware. I love the display and toggling between Boost & AFR or both when I want. Plus, I can add more if I want in the future.

LOL - I'm right there with you! Nice to be able to read at least one of the gauges.
I'm only using it for boost and AFR, but they tracked the dyno readings really well. So, I think I can trust what I see. The AFR updates pretty fast...the boost seems to be a little slower.

Does it store max boost seen by the motor? Like the old analog telltale?

DSP - I think it has a peak-hold mode, but have not tried to figure that part out yet. I would really like to figure out how to log the data over USB, but cannot seem to find the software.

Jajohnsen - I used the 200 series for the display and made the plate with the square opening on my CNC. With a little more effort, I'm sure that the same plate could be made with a Dremel.

Todd, can you be more specific about your setup, please. The only thing with the "200" designation that I could find on the PLX website says it is for plugging into a vehicles OBDII port, which these cars obviously do not have (I'm probably just not smart enough to look in the right place).

I'm in the market for a new AFR setup as my Innovate LM2 has taken another dump (been repaired before and has had other, continual problems) and I really like your "large display" gauge - don't much care for the other PLX AFR displays.

Shoot me a PM brother... I have a PLX DM300 which is the 60mm version and I have the SM AFR to pair with it. I am not going to use it so we can use it in your car.

The display is the DM200 which does have the OBD connection. Obviously, It isn't used for anything. It can also display stand-alone sensor modules. I used the 200 because the clock face could support the larger size display.

Thanks to Todd and Chris (and Innovate, for making a product I've finally thrown the towel in on), I've just made my latest Viagra-like purchase(s) - already have wood and don't even have any of the parts here yet!!! :D

Not sure if I am going to copy Todd's boss setup outright, or do something different - really like what that other Pelican member used to do, many years ago, where he installed a PLX screen & guts in the bottom portion of the OEM tacheometer (removed the boost gauge and cut the gauge face to accommodate the PLX screen) - I'm going to look into maybe doing that . . . will see. Regarless - - - > WOOD!!! :)
