Considering unloading a 930 for a GT2 / GT3 / Newer Turbo

I am considering unloading one of my 930s and getting into a newer water cooled car. I want ot be able to take the family with me easier (more room in the 996 and newer cars) and I can bolt 911 rear seats into a GT2 / GT3.

What say the collective wisdom? Am I crazy? Have the values on the early 930 peaked? Which would you unload?

Having one of each is the best of both worlds.

If I had to, I'd unload the Slant. Never been a fan of the look. Your silver 76 looks great.

if it was me i would keep the silver car and offload the slant nose for a GT2/3. just imo

If one has to go keep the original '76 hands down.

^this

awesome problem to have, btw!

me, I'd probably do it and not keep 2 930s... be uberbauls to have a 930 and a GT2/3 of any gen... sigh.

enjoy!

Defiantly keep the 76. She's a beauty. I'm biassed though, never been a fan of slants either.

No question, keep the 76 and branch out and enjoy other Porsche products!

As someone who has both I know where you are coming from. My 996TT is ideal for the kids and those days I want something a little easier and faster to drive. It is OK on the track with the suspension/brake mods I have and is just a bullet on the street. The 930, well you have 2 so you know.

I was going to do the rear seat install on a GT3/GT2 but no shop around me would touch it due to liability so I ended up with the turbo. That said, considering how cheap 996TT's are you can pour money into one and just build anything you want. Just my 2 cents.

I'd keep my two air cooled cars, and wait until the GT2 & 3 come back out with manual 7 speed trany in 2016. By then, it might be just a swap with the slant, moneywise.

Do what makes you happy.

Given the current market, I can't fault anybody who decides its time to cash in their chips and move on. I'd have a hard time saying no if someone offered me "excellent driver" pricing on my '79. I'd take 50% of the money and put it in the bank, and the other 50% would buy a water pumper that I can use as an appliance, run it all year long with snow tires in the winter:D
