Indeed. Not a great day.

Before:

I ended up having the entire car taken down:

And painted:

It sat so long at the body/paint shop that I needed to have the fuel distributor rebuilt among other things. There's a punch list of stuff to address like the A-hole who roped the windshield in but the car runs really well now.

A lot of us are in the same boat. I couldn't afford to own one either if I weren't doing my own work. Cheaper and easier to learn to weld and buy a tig welder than getting intakes intercoolers etc fabbed up.

^^Like the plates, but judging from the cars' relative height to one another, maybe the plates should be swapped?

It is incredibly capable. Took a trip to the mountains a few weekends back and it held its own with much newer, much more powerful p-cars.

It is bone stock sans exhaust and konis and honestly I wouldn't change anything else performance wise. In the corners it has the PERFECT amount of exit power and is extremely light on its feet. It does have much more body roll vs the 930 but that equates to communication. It really lets you know exactly whats going on and what it does/doesn't want to do vs the 930 that takes you to the edge then just lets go.

It's a much more comfortable car for "touring" - I would easily take it on a long road trip without question. Honestly I think it's one of the most underrated and under appreciated cars in its price range (teens). You should drive a well sorted one!

+1 -- the 944 Turbo (951) is extremely underrated.
