I just make one out of a tire valve tool, just crimp the end a little and you can use it for your tell tale needle.
IMR-Merlin, thanks for the idea. had not thought of that yet.

I used needle nose pliers to crimp the ends on the one I used for the tell tale. This one pictured is unmolested.

That's the thing about the tell tales or is it tale tells? My car now has a .8 boost spring. Holds a steady .8 in 3rd or 4th. But spikes on shifts somehow. So basically just window dressing.

mine spikes too upon upshift, but a couplafew tenths - that seems excessive?

my tell tale needle was loos(er than Ronknee's hopeless sphincter), hard cornering would move it wherever so it was pretty much irrelevant and needing an NHS redo

The tension on those things is so loose they move if you hit a hard bump. Don't really see the point of them anyway but that is they way they used to come.

^^^ Similar to why Paul must wear Depends at such a relatively young age - accelerated wear due to over usage (in reverse, BUTTofcourse) of the ol' chute!

Talking boost gauges?.....

My new dial - custom 1-off, uses an original 964 clock which has all the warning lights retained around the periphery, with a Stack Pro stepper motor boost and vacuum gauge fitted in place of the clock mechanism, with all the wizardry it brings....peak recall, backlight flashes at preset thresholds, digital output if required...etc.

The guy who made it printed the face with the same font, same spacing as the rest of the gauges, then used one of the clock hands, shortened, for the boost hand. Programming buttons carefully fitted through 2mm glass (glad he managed to retain glass rather than perspex). Took 3-4 months to get it one, so can't wait to fit it.
