Nice. All these pics make me want to put the stock rear lid back on. Are your r888r rear 275? I bought two new 2018 sets of r888 @315 as they are really hard to find in Europe in that size.

Hmm, handling must be good but do you spin the rears when on boost? I get my 315 loose time to time so I think 245 would spin like mad on my car but it's not only the accel grip that makes car fast so if they manage corners well they might be even optimal for 930? I have never had rear come loose on corners so 315 might be overkill for sporty driving. Even my earlier 275 r888 never got loose on corners but spinned more on accel.

Dont mind the intake, it was just a mock up for a test drive and it even fell off, these are r888 315/35-17

Wow what a wide beast and what an engine set-up!

No, when the tires are at temperature i never had spin, but for shure i don't have your power!
I find these r888rs fantastic for a track day use, expecially with black pagid's at front.

Unfortnately here in Italy, it is a very hard process to register different wheel sizes on a car this old.
Im always looking for the possibility one day to fit something wider...will see!

I had to do a change-MOT too for these wheels/tires but they just checked that tires dont come out of the wheel arch and now these tires are written on my cars technical specs.

Good to know about the handling. I have 245 r888 front so it also is pretty balanced although I still have stock TorsioBars (stiffer ones are in a box with new dampers for future upgrades)

I love the R888's but they are like butter. I think I got 3,000 mi on my rears, double that on the front. Can break them loose with around 400 rwhp and of course you can break them loose cornering. Very nice progressive break when cornering though, lots of warning and very controllable. Love it. Maybe that's why only 3k miles on them

Here I put that set of wheel and Toyo’s only for the track day, almost never on the road because of gravel ecc...they really are like butter and warm up quickly!

Those R888R are really grippy when new, but they also seem to age quickly and get hard, leaving the car feeling loose at highway speed.
We have a 930 with 18 month old tires and the car feels not planted at 60mph+ and dangerous. Swap to other wheels with Michelin Pilot tires and it feels completely stable and controllable.

Anyone else having the same experience?

I found (even if it seems obvious) that they need to work with a very precise pressure.
They warm up fast and the pressure needs to be perfect.
It happened to last year, On the highway, on a very light touch on the brakes the car was dancing in a scary way..stopped at the service station to meet some friends, went on the toyo website, made a good pressure regulation with still hot tires and everything went perfect.
My toyos are 2 years old.

I've only had the R888's on my 930 for a month so I can't help with the long term aspect of them. New(ish) and they're great. I'm curious to hear what others think after having driven on them for a year+.

Chris, I think it's just those freezing temperatures you guys aren't accustomed to

And just to keep the pic's rolling here is my engine case mated, FINALLY! Thanks in large part to Mr. TurboKraft for helpful guidance, excellent parts, and service...

Since 2013 I do many things to it as improvements and little reversible updates..always nice to have something done to the car every year.
Recently I’ve done the front oil cooler, brake cooling, ecc.
