Grey hairs gone wild. Another 930 ramble..

I haven't been posting these here because frankly, there isn't much to tell you folks about 930 ownership you do not already know.

That being said, if you are have a slow day (as I am) check it out.

Disclaimer - I am not a writer. I have terrible grammar. Most of these posts make no sense.

Hey, you might not be a writer... I'm not a reader and read it all... Prrrrrreeeeettycool!

Very entertaining and identifyable with a fellow P-car - 930 - guy. Most of us are very peculiar with our cars and it's priceless to share emotions and feelings openly as you did.

I'm with you!

You're a f#ck!ng liar. You're a better writer that 99.99% of what passes for content on oppo and jalopnik.

And although you may make no sense, it is always entertaining.

dewd, mileseses behind a QV IS epic - well done!

and

I was the dork w/ the Counny pic on his boyhood wall - lol, it's actually in my garage now (next to the Vector W2 poster wtf). Couldn't throw it out. So I guess I AM that dork? Yeah.

You never ever see those anywhere ever except shows museums and garages.

Nice job squarin away the suspension / alignment, and congrats on the Fuchs - looks slammin good in that one shot w/ 'em.

the 1shock replacement could be due to impact of ? sort... ginormous pothole or other undesirable stationary object... seen that before

Yeah, I'm calling B.S. on that, too.
I remember really enjoying reading part 1 some time back, and just skimmed through part 15. It's a really well told story, makes the reader feel like he was involved, or at least hanging out in your garage while you persevered through it.
Well done, sir, and keep the narrative coming.

Excellent reading! Been waiting all day for some free time to absorb your words.

My favorite - to quote you: "It felt like two old guys had busted themselves out of the retirement home for an unsupervised jaunt. Grandpas out cruising for tail, once again. I can think of no finer way to close the book on my first summer of 930 ownership".

Sheeitt mon, I feel that way every time and not just my first summer of ownership (but that ever elusive tail just doesn't seem to materialize no matter what I do; must be the old man in me scaring them off).

It's been awhile since I've cruised up to Wintrop in my 930 and never have seen anything even close to challenging me....let alone Lambos and F'cars. A 3000GT once paced my ass for awhile until I let him pass at some undisclosed triple digit number. I was too busy sightseeing and enjoying the ambience of the moment.

You've done a great job capturing in words what most of us feel and have gone through. Ought to change your day job for writing.

My favorite paragraph... This sums it up perfectly. Keep up the excellent writing.

"While I love getting the Porsche out for some exercise with friends, it is not without some trepidation though. The 930 feels distinctly awkward in a parking lot full of newer metal. While I love the newer stuff coming from Audi and BMW the old Porsche is…….just a different thing. In a pack of pacing, preening alpha males the 930 is the old silverback gorilla brooding in the corner. It's the dirty old sledge hammer at the bottom of the tool box. Used but not necessarily used up. In a world of computerized whiz bang driver modes and paddle shifted acceleration the 930 offers only a 'Hulk Smash!" approach to driving dynamics. I'm rambling…"
