She's runnin- thanks guys
On the way home from Monterey last August, I got stuck in some stop n' go on a mountain road in 90 degree heat- worst combination possible. Made it over the pass, and after everything cools off and looks good, she shuts off and we coast to the side. It cranks but wont fire and I call for a flat-bed. While I'm waiting, I give her another try and she starts right up. Make the last 100 miles and park it in the driveway and then it's dead for good. Thanks to this forum I traced it to the CDI. Our host rebuilt it for two hundred bucks and with a new coil I'm back in business. The sticky for common causes was an invaluable tool- especially the ohm numbers for a functional ignition. I will post my experience in that thread but just wanted to say "thanks for the access to all of your expertise". It's like having a dozen mechanics in your garage.
