New to Forum - Paint Question

Hi to all. Have been reading this forum for the last year or so, when I got the turbo and am enjoying it very much. It's a 1987 Turbo with 160k, Silver with Navy interior. Mostly stock and a great driver. I've logged 6k miles this past year, only one track day though. Question, I'm re-doing the front valance and will be ready to paint soon, did the factory paint the valance same as the rest of the car, base coat and clear coat? Thanks!

Great looking 930!

The valence has a coat of rock chip protection which got painted body color and then cleared.

I don't believe they were clear coated. I believe they were single stage, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

^^^ Depending on the year... single stage car = no clear coat. However they all have "texture" on it.

Hi

Well, since we are on this subject of paint, I still cannot find my paint color.

I own a 1978 930, COA is paint to sample, but paint tag in door jam shows 291-9-3

I thought it was light green, but that's 275-9-3, I am stumped, I need to try to match it on the hood and roof. Some paint shops use a laser match system, I just need to figure out the base paint then have a good painter adjust for patina.
