76 Turbo Race trans and differential

Anyone know about these numbers? The re builder thought race numbers. The differential also has larger tapered bearings than stock, dated 8-76. Also the trans number is different style than my other 76-77 short bell housings ( with 3 stars ) and different part numbered gears. It was in a early short bellhousing turbo race car before sitting on the shelf many years and I bought it for a spare. Not that easy to read trans # any more, as in photo. Also the R at the end of the casting number is unusual. Any info appreciated.

Yank the diff out and post pictures of the big bearings.

That would be best however Just had it apart for inspection and rebuilt as necessary ( 8 month wait ). The diff required larger axle seals from 45-72? to 45 - 75. I guess the biggest mystery is the 3 stars on ID and the R on the casting at this point

76 Trans

I'm not sure about the stars but I don't think the R is unusual, my case also has it. This is on the trans in my '76 930

Thanks , that clears that part of the mystery up. Now just the stars and the larger seals for the output shafts. Maybe some race parts ordered from Porsche Motorsports to beef up from stock. A modded trans so not for the purist who wants everything original. So in my race car it will go, if needed.
