Need opinions of Lindsey Fuchs

I'm thinking of ordering a couple of 11x17 Fuch 2 piece style wheels for my 81' 930 from Linsdey Racing. Any experience with the quality of the wheels? Are they using genuine Fuch cores or replicas? Haven't talked to them yet.

Second question:
I currently have the stock 7x16 front and 8x16 back. The thought is to put the 8x16's up front and put the new 11x17's in the back. Anyone see any problems with this setup? Trying to save costs of buying all four new.

I had them for years w/o any problems at all. Mike will work with you on whatever you need. Good quality stuff - Mike is a heck of a TIG welder... BTW, no affiliation here.
Not sure about swapping rears to front due to the backspacing... might work.

They use genuine cores, and you can provide your own set if you have them. Going off memory, but I believe he only uses's a 16x6 Fuch core. Not sure about the backspacing with swapping out your rears. The ideal size for these cars with turbo flares seems to be 9's and 11's. He does an awesome job though.

I brought the painted black centers down on the barrels a bit. Not quite as much polished lip showing.
Slappy happy with mine.

Crb07, that actually looks really good. Do you have another pic straight on the wheel?

Looks nice. Just wondering if I put the original wheels in the front, the black and chrome will not match exactly with the new ones in the back, but oh well...

I have never like Lindsey Fuchs until I saw your car. Smart way to visually balance the center with the diameter of the hub.

no offense to any Lindsey runners here, but ^this^ would definitely be my choice between these two options

I too am not keen on the proportion of the small hub diameter to the barrel, nor how the barrels are "double-stepped" and the consequential visual effect.

Just my opinion... I know they make great wheels and many really enjoy them otherwise - again, just my observation.

They still look good (great), just not as ideal as the Zuchs are for roughly the same spend.

Another thing to keep in mind that the core's that they use (Lindsey) are around 30 years old. There was a article in Excelance or Panorama about fatigue on these rims and how they are begining to break
down. If it were me I would go Fikse who now makes the 17in Fuchs. Just my opinion no affiliation.

The Lindsey P2's are around $2880 a set if you do the polished lip and black centers.

The Zuffenhaus/Fikse 17" Fuchs set is $4680.

Fair difference in price.

Food for thought.

Chris.

Ah, I stand corrected Chris - I was under the impression they was relative price parity.

Does that price tho assume you supply the Fuchs centers? That's a consideration...

Lindsey's $2880 price includes cores. They will knock off $200 for each 16x6 usable core you supply.
